Adam Lallana’s groin injury is not serious and the Englishman will be back and available by the end of September, thankfully.

The 30-year-old recently pulled out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the upcoming fixtures with Spain and Switzerland, with Liverpool fans letting our a collective groan.

Lallana missed basically the entirety of last term injured, picked up more injuries this summer and this latest problem confirmed to many that his body is simply letting him down too often.

The playmaker though is confident he’ll be back in action soon.

“It’s a minor setback, which isn’t ideal, as I’ve been in great shape until now, but it’s positive news that it’s only a brief lay-off,” the No.20 told Liverpoolfc.com.
“I’m pleased I’ll be back available for Liverpool, both domestically and in the Champions League during September, and then England again for the next break.

“I know I can make a significant contribution over the course of a long season and that’s where my focus will remain – with so much to play for.

“Doing my best and giving everything for my teammates, management and supporters of club and country is all that matters.”

We can’t see Lallana as a starter this season, which is sad, because during his best season in red (2016/17), he provided a real asset as a roaming, pressing no.8.

The injuries he’s suffered though makes it largely unlikely that he’ll ever come back and be such a physical presence, but he’s a mighty handy bench option, nonetheless.
