Ronaldo, who is Real Madrid’s all-time leading goalscorer with 324 goals, will be remembered fondly in the Spanish capital. One of his best goals came in last season’s Champions League campaign, scoring a stunning overhead kick in a 3-0 win away at his new club Juventus. Despite watching their team concede a crucial goal, the fans inside the Juventus Stadium rose to applaud Ronaldo’s magnificence. On Tuesday, UEFA revealed that his goal won the Goal of the Season award.
No player has scored more goals than Ronaldo in the Champions League and it’s no surprise that he’s the leading candidate to win a third successive Ballon d’Or. His new club, Juventus, were quick to congratulate Ronaldo on winning yet another award.
