University students cautioned against irresponsible sexual behaviors

Students set to join various universities have been challenged to utilize their school time prudently so as to achieve and realize their visions and aspirations.

These were the sentiments of three County Executive Committee Members Mrs. Everlyne Rotich (Health), CPA Julius Rutto (Finance) and Mr. Joseph Kurgat (Education) who spoke In Cheplaskei, Karuna/Meibeki Ward while speaking during a prayer day for several university students.

The County Executive in charge of Health Mrs. Evelyne Rotich said that drug and substance abuse should be avoided at all cost citing that it ruins an opportunity for students in the university.

She further cautioned the university fresher’s against engaging in irresponsible sexual behaviors while schooling citing that they may end up contracting diseases.

On his part, CPA Ruto said that most students misuse their time which further affects their future goals.

He challenged the university students to always flash back to where they have come from adding that most parents sacrifice a lot while paying school fees for their children to succeed in life.

The CPA finalist challenged students to come back home as role models to their siblings as education was an equalizer to all who embrace it.

“Ensure that you choose the right company who will help you achieve your dreams. Create new networks and be inquisitive.” Added the
County head of Treasury.

On the other hand, Education CECM Mr. Joseph Kurgat further challenged the youth to ensure that they work hard in school so as to live a happy life in the future.

He said that discipline was key in realizing their aspirations. The way you dress reflects who you are.

The three county officials challenged parents to ensure that they provide for their children to avert getting “Sponsors” who will ruin their lives.

The educationist asked the students to take caution while choosing friends saying that bad influence affects university students negatively.

“Ensure that you control the total freedom you are just about to encounter. You will encounter a culture shock and should be ready to control it,” advised Mr. Kurgat
