After confirming his marriage to TV girl Mary Kilobi, A conversation between COTU boss Francis Atwoli and his Ex- Wife has been leaked with dirty secrets been let out in public.
An explosive recorded telephone conversation with his estranged wife hit the internet opening a lid into his private life.
In the recorded phone conversation, COTU chair is heard asking his ex- wife, Rosalinder Wanyonyi, to leave their home but she seems reluctant and refuses.
According to Rosalinder, Atwoli has abandoned their children leaving her all the responsibility to take care of them.
Further in the conversation, Rosalinder adds saying that Atwoli abandoned her and their children three years ago.
In addition she says, “You can wear a KSh 1 million suit yet I am suffering because you neglected me. I even got to a point of selling land to survive.”
Atwoli is then heard telling her in no uncertain terms that her political ambitions is what ended their union but she hears none of that. They have three children together; two girls and a boy who is the last born. All of them are in Atwoli’s custody, apparently, it is understood Atwoli separated with Rosalinder on mutual grounds as they could not agree on her political ambitions besides some other irreconcilable differences.
Contrary to her claims that he has abandoned their children, it has emerged that Atwoli has been providing for their upkeep and even paying school fees for all of them. According to the source close to the family Atwoli has spent over KSh 20 million for his daughter’s education in South Africa and now, she is a pilot with a local airline company. Their other daughter is studying law at Mt Kenya University while their last born son is at an International school in Kitengela.
Besides his 17 children, Atwoli is also taking care of other 74 children from less fortunate families. TUKO.co.ke understands the unionist bought land in Kakamega where he built their home but their differences and Rosalinder’s unwillingness to settle their differences led to the separation.
According to the source, “He was kind enough to even involve her extended family members to resolve the differences but she lacked the goodwill, abusing every step of these efforts and hardly available to consult other than busy with her campaigns in Webuye to capture a parliamentary seat.”
He said this pushed Atwoli to make the hard decision to separate with her as she did not have time for him and their children.
