Can Barcelona follow Real Madrid with Ronaldo and sell Messi?

On the face of it Real Madrid are a bigger entity than Cristiano Ronaldo and no single individual should block the Club’s development.

Plus, they’ll have to raise a bit of cash in order to reinvest.Juventus will be paying Real Madrid £88m for the Portuguese striker, and on top of that, Real will no longer have to pay Ronaldo’s £365,000-a-week salary. With all this extra cash, Real are set to go on a spending spree, and bring in that one (or two) big ‘Galactico’ style players.  Besides Ronaldo is 33 years old and is in the last days of his career, his exit allows Real Madrid to nurture new talent.

But in the most recent season, CR7 scored 26. It’s still an impressive figure, but not the super-human levels he was once capable of. Real Madrid should accept the fact that they have got the prime years of Ronaldo’s career, and now is the time to let Madeira’s greatest son move on to pastures new.
