Why Madrid players are upset with Ramos

Real Madrid stars are not pleased with the club allowing Sergio Ramos to extend his summer break for the second year in a row.

According to Marca, Ramos got permission to have a longer holiday from the coaching staff but the differential treatment hasn’t gone down well with some of his teammates at the club. Isco, Marco Asensio, Lucas Vasquez and Nacho came back on July 25 and 26 whereas Dani Carvajal joined up on July 29 after the World Cup.

Ramos, however, didn’t show up until August 1 and therefore missed Los Blancos’ friendly defeat to Manchester United. The captain still commands immense respect in the dressing room but not everyone is pleased with the situation ahead of a challenging season. Nevertheless, the defender is now focused on getting his teammates ready for the upcoming UEFA Super Cup clash with Atletico Madrid on August 15.

Ramos joined Real in 2005 from Sevilla and quickly rose to prominence thanks to his incredible talent and outstanding leadership skills. He has won four league titles and also led the team to an unprecedented three Champions League trophies in a row. Ramos has also experienced immense success at international level with Spain, winning two consecutive European Championships as well as the 2010 World Cup.

Those honours include: four La Liga titles and four UEFA Champions League titles.
