Mohamed Salah jets to Spain in bid to make the World Cup!

The Liverpool star left the pitch in tears on Saturday evening after being wrestled to the ground by Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos during the Champions League final.

Salah’s shoulder injury hampered the Reds’ chances of success in Kiev.

But the Egyptian is now facing a summer of no football as he attempts to recover in time for next month’s World Cup in Russia.

And the attacker has now decided to travel to a Spanish injury clinic to aid his recovery.

The Egyptian federation claim Salah started his rehabilitation programme on Sunday, and was in “high spirits” and “determined to return quickly to the ranks of the team”.

The 26-year-old will be joined by the president of the Egyptian federation, the national team doctor and Liverpool staff during his stay.

Egyptian federation officials say they will pay Salah a visit on Wednesday afternoon.

“It was a very tough night, but I’m a fighter. Despite the odds, I’m confident that I’ll be in Russia to make you all proud,” he wrote on his Twitter account on Sunday.

Egypt are preparing to take on Uruguay in their opening World Cup clash on June 15, before facing hosts Russia and Saudi Arabia.

Salah netted 44 goals in all competitions for Liverpool this season.
