Kenyan Premier League leading scorer Elvis Rupia has been named April Sports Journalists Association of Kenya (SJAK) player of the month.
The Nzoia Sugar forward has been awarded Ksh. 100,000, a 49′ LG tv and a personified trophy courtesy of LG Electronics in a a ceremony held at Sudi Stadium in Bungoma on Tuesday 29th May.
To win the award he beat Vihiga United’s Christopher Masinza and Zoo FC duo of Mike Madoya and Nicholas Kipkirui.
He 19 votes while Kipkirui was second with 17. Madoya came in third with 15 votes. Masinza was a distant third with nine votes. The award comes following his two goals and assists in the month of April.
